Speaking Clock Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 8, 2026

Speaking Clock is operated by Nguyễn Thức in Vietnam. This policy explains how information is handled in our iOS and Android apps and when you visit our app information and privacy pages. Features and controls may differ by platform, version, and region.

Speaking Clock provides clock and time-announcement features without requiring an account.

1. Clock settings, audio, and notifications

Your announcement preferences, quiet hours, voice language, and time format are stored on your device. Prerecorded audio is played or assembled locally to speak the time. The app does not record your voice or upload microphone recordings, and its clock features do not request contacts, photos, or precise-location access.

On iOS, the operating system delivers time announcements through local notifications. The app may refresh the schedule in the background; it does not send your schedule to a remote server for push delivery. Android uses device scheduling and playback and may require notification, exact-alarm, or background-service permissions.

You can turn announcements off in the app or manage permissions in system settings. Notification and sound permissions affect whether announcements play.

2. Background images and internet requests

The app downloads images from external hosts and caches them on your device. Image hosts receive normal request information, including your IP address, requested image URL, and technical connection information. They may keep server logs under their own policies. Your clock preferences are not included in these image requests.

Opening a privacy page, an advertisement, or another external link may send connection information to the website you visit. The website's own privacy practices apply to those requests.

3. Advertising and privacy choices

The app displays ads through Google AdMob. Google's advertising SDK may process IP addresses and an approximate location inferred from them, device or app identifiers, advertising interactions, app interactions, and diagnostic or performance data. This supports advertising, measurement, service reliability, and fraud prevention. Access to advertising identifiers is subject to applicable operating-system permissions.

Personalization depends on applicable consent, regional requirements, system settings, and advertising configuration. Non-personalized ads may still involve data processing or local storage for delivery, measurement, and fraud prevention.

The iOS app uses Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) to update consent information at launch and display privacy messages when required. It checks UMP's permission to request ads before loading them. Where required, Ad privacy choices appears in Settings so you can reopen the form and change your choices. UMP and Google may retain consent records and related technical information.

Using the app or reading this policy does not itself constitute consent to optional tracking. You may manage applicable tracking and advertising permissions in your device settings. Consent controls and available messages can differ between versions and regions.

4. Firebase and analytics

Our apps include Firebase components from Google. Firebase Analytics may process app events, usage information, device and app information, and identifiers to help us understand usage and technical behavior. Collection depends on the app version and service configuration.

The Android app also uses Firebase Remote Config to retrieve configuration values; that service may process installation identifiers. The current iOS app does not load app settings through Remote Config.

Advertising consent choices do not necessarily disable analytics. Contact us if you have questions or wish to make a privacy request relating to analytics information.

5. Support and purposes of processing

When you contact us, we receive your email address and the contents of your message. Send only information needed for your request. We use this information to respond and resolve problems.

Information described in this policy is processed to provide requested features, deliver images and ads, understand performance and usage, address technical problems, prevent abuse, and meet legal obligations. Where consent is required, it must be obtained through the applicable consent process. Other applicable grounds may include providing a requested service, legitimate interests, or legal obligations.

6. Providers, sharing, and international transfers

Google, image hosts, website hosts, and email providers may process information for the purposes described above. Advertising partners may receive information as explained in the applicable Google disclosures and consent messages. Information may also be disclosed when legally required or necessary to protect rights and investigate abuse.

We do not sell your clock preferences. We do not collect voice recordings. Some advertising data processing may be considered a sale or sharing under certain regional laws; available rights and controls depend on those laws and the relevant provider's practices.

Providers may process data outside your country, including in the United States. Support correspondence may be accessed in Vietnam. Relevant provider policies and terms describe their international-transfer practices and safeguards.

7. Retention, deletion, and security

Local settings and caches remain until changed or removed by the app, operating system, or deletion of the app. Device backups may keep copies according to your backup settings. Uninstalling does not automatically delete information already processed by external services.

Support messages are retained as needed to respond, resolve issues, and meet applicable obligations. Provider retention varies by service, data type, configuration, and legal requirements; their policies describe those practices.

Current background-image downloads use HTTPS. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. Avoid sending unnecessary sensitive information in support messages.

8. Your choices and privacy rights

You can change clock preferences, turn announcements off, manage notification permissions, use available ad privacy controls, and manage relevant operating-system settings. You can delete local app data by deleting the app, subject to backup behavior.

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or obtain a copy of personal information, object to processing, or withdraw consent. Withdrawal does not affect processing already lawfully performed. Contact us to exercise applicable rights. You may also complain to a relevant data-protection authority.

We may need to verify your request and locate the relevant information. An email address alone may not identify records held by an advertising or analytics provider; where appropriate, we will explain the available provider tools or request only the information needed to handle your request.

9. Children's privacy

We do not knowingly request personal information directly from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, please contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action, including deletion where required. The third-party services described above remain subject to applicable privacy and consent requirements.

10. Updates and contact

We may update this policy as the service changes. Revisions take effect when published unless a different date is stated. We will update the date above and provide additional notice or obtain consent when required.
